p8 ECU swap

Hi,

Hope you guys can help me out.

In the Netherlands the Toyota Starlet has 75 hp, but the Corolla (type 92-95) has 88hp with the SAME engine. The only difference should be in the ECU.

How much hp (horse power) does your p8 Starlets have?

our starlet (92-95) has also 75hp with the 1.3 engine (2e-e).
but it has an attachment inside the engine,so it hast lower power,than normal,because of the taxes or something,because having an 75hp car, doesnt cost as much as a 88hp car.

this attachment is at the air-filter. the entry to the connection from air-filter to the motor, is smaller then normal, so the car cant have 84hp.
you can break it away and then you have more hp, but its forbidden in germany.

aaalso, den 2e-e motor gab es mit 75ps und 82ps, der unterschied war in der tat nur die lufidrossel

den 4e-fe motor gab es mit 75ps, 88ps und 86ps. intressant nur der 75 und 88 ps motor, weil der 86ps motor im corolla e11 verbaut wurde.

so der 88ps hat auch im gegensatz zum 75ps nicht nur ne andere ecu sondern auch ne andere ansaugbrücke, es reicht also nicht nur die ecu zu tauschen. aber die 88ps wurden im corolla in den späteren versionen, ab facelift, zu den 75ps, weil sie durch die änderungen die abgasnorm verbessert haben. ausserdem soll der 88ps nicht besser gehen als der 75ps motor! also bringt nichts!!!

Hi, thanks for the answers (your english is pretty good though). There are 2 ways to get to the 88hp.

1. the air intake, you described

2. different ECU (used in the corolla, but this one doesn't fit in the Starlet)

So, the problem is the ECU (because I already changed the air intake). There should be starlets with the described ECU, but I can't find them...

E10 hat doch uberhaupt nichts zu tun mit der 2ee starlet motor? Ist es villeicht möglich etwas zu tun mit der 1.3 E9 motor? Der hat glaub ich mehr Ps als eine P8 2ee?

ja, aber das ist der 2E, ich meine die 2EE (injektion) mit 82 Ps. Wisst jemand ob der ECU aus zu wechseln ist?

Bringt das mal bitte nicht so durcheinander!

Lest nochmal aufmerksam TheDarkOnes Post. 2E-E hat nichts mit Corolla ab E10 zu tun. Im Corolla wurden ab (glaub E9) bis E10 E Motoren verbaut und ab E10 A Motoren. Den 2E-E gabs bei den Corollas nur im E9 (75PS). Und die 82PS Variante vom 2E-E im Starlet ist meines wissens nach nur mit offenem Luftfilterkasten.

The 75PS 2e-e engine is the same then the 82PS 2e-e engine the only different is the reduction in the air filter box. The 88PS and 86PS engines are completly different to the 2ee that are 4e-fe ones.

Perhaps you're right and there's a 2e-e ecu which is more poreful than the "normal" ep81 ecu - don't know it. I only know that in Germany there are 2 (or more) different ECUs in the 2ee starlets. The main change of the 2ee injection system is at 1995. When you got a 1995er car some sensors and the ecu are different. My opinion is that the 95ers 2ee runs smoother than the old ones but aren't as powerful as them.

so dann mal wieder im ernst! jo so sollte es sein! auch hier kann man gut auf drivers page verweisen da gibts ne anleitung dazu!

Nagut, wir sollen es mal sehen ob wir 7 Ps. dazu bekommen wenn wir das lufthaus (wie nennt man dass..) umbauen.. Danke sehr fürs informationen!
